Sakura 桜 sa.kɯ.ɾa Cherry blossom
For a short moment in March-April Sakura blooms across Japan.

Marking Oliver Bryant’s debut exhibition, Sakura invites you to experience the gentle poetry of petals in bloom a vivid encounter with impermanence and renewal.

The Exhibition two years in the making will take you to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and Aomori.
Visit the bustling streets of Tokyo and Osaka, historical Kyoto and Sakura in Aomori all from the Maidstone highstreet.

Japan's connection to Maidstone
Maidstone Museum holds the third largest collection of historical Japanese artefacts in the United Kingdom and will be participating in the exhibition with prints on display from the Edo period. If your visiting the exhibition, it's well worth combining a trip to Maidstone Museum's Japanese Artefacts exhibition [Directions]

Did you know about the Sakura Cherry Tree Project? Since 2019 the project has planted over 8000 Cherry Trees in the UK a symbol of friendship between Japan and the United Kingdom. Mote Park is the nearest Park to be part of the project.

About the Artist

Oliver Bryant is an award-winning photographer who specialises in travel and landscape photography. From Iceland’s fire and ice to the peacefulness of Japan and the sun-soaked Greek islands, Oliver shares the world through his lens. Sakura is a deeply personal chapter in Oliver’s journey, an encounter with transience and the art of seeing slowly. Neurodiverse (Autsitic, ADHD, Dyslexica), Oliver is a proud member of the Disabled Photographers Society and the Royal Photographic Society.
